The Society was founded in 1968 and has now about 400 members.The principal purpose of the Society is to create a sense of communality among people who belong to the Vesterinen family, and to research the origin and history of our family. The Society has published several books on the history of the family. The books are written in Finnish, and can be ordered under MYYNTITUOTTEET at this website.
Every third year we have a General Meeting, the latest in Hämeenlinna in the Southern Finland in June 2013. In the General Meeting of 2010 in Helsinki we had the pleasure of receiveing members of the Vesterinen family from the U.S.A and Canada as guests. Their grandparents had immigrated there over hundred years ago.

The meeting of the Family Society in 2010 was held in Helsinki the 19th and 20th of June.

Summer excursion 2006 to the Monastery of Valamo in Russia was held during July 14-16.
Summer excursion 2005 in Russia (Wiburg and St. Petersburg) and Estonia (Tartto and Tallinn) was held during June 10 - 12.
Summer excursion 2003 in Estonia (Tallinn and Saarenmaa) was held during June 6 - 8.
The meeting of the Family Society 2004 happened in Jyväskylä the 12th and 13th of June at the Hotel Alba and the University of Jyväskylä.
